SWTOR Tip of the Day: Go Back Later to Get Your Datacrons

In the mad dash to hit level 50, I stopped datacron hunting around the time that I left Tatooine.  Now that I’m getting ready for update 1.2, I’m going back and gathering the datacrons that I’ve missed.

Going back at a higher level makes datacron gathering much easier.  Not only do I have my super speedy speeder bike to get around on, but there have been several datacrons that require that I defeat some “high level” elites (for that planet) in heroric areas in order to get the datacron.  Needless to say, it just isn’t a fair fight to pit a level 50 character against a level 40 elite.

I couldn’t imagine defeating some of the MOBs if I were at the appropriate level.  I would most certainly have to be in a group, which isn’t always possible to find during the times that I play.  So, if you are having difficulty getting your datacrons, come back later when you are more powerful and you can mow down your enemies without getting a scratch.

SWTOR Tip of the Day: Use A Friend to Get Datacrons Faster

This tip only applies to certain classes, but if you happen to have a good guild, you should be able to find someone to help you out.

Datacrons in SWTOR sometimes require that you jump a long way in order to reach them or take a ridiculously long balloon ride to get to them.  Sometimes, you can use battle mechanics to “cheat” and help another player reach the same location that you are.

For example, if you are perched at a location above your friend, enter a duel.  You can use a cable pull to bring them up where you are or they can use force jump to reach your location.  Dueling activates these battle only abilities.

As mentioned above, this only works for certain classes.  You would have to have the cable pull or force jump ability in the first place.  But if you have help, you can save a lot of time when you are out hunting for datacrons.
